Your grades stay in this browser tab while you use the calculator and are not sent to a server.
Choose at least one grade to calculate your GPA.
How it works
- Enter each college course and its credit hours.
- Choose the grade input mode that matches your transcript: letter, percent, or 4.0 points.
- The calculator converts each grade into grade points and multiplies by credits.
- It divides total quality points by total credits to estimate GPA.
Example calculation
If you earn A in a 4-credit class, B+ in a 3-credit class, and B in a 3-credit class, GPA is (4.0 x 4 + 3.3 x 3 + 3.0 x 3) / 10 = 3.49.
What this means
Credit-heavy college courses affect GPA more than low-credit courses. Use this estimate for planning, then treat your official transcript as the final source.
FAQ
- Can this calculate semester and cumulative GPA?
- Yes for any set of courses you enter. For combining old GPA with new courses, use the cumulative GPA calculator.
- What if my college uses quarter credits?
- Use the credits exactly as your transcript reports them. The weighted average formula still works.
- Should withdrawals be included?
- Usually no. Withdrawals typically do not count as GPA points, but school policies vary.
- Does this handle graduate courses?
- It can estimate GPA for any credit-hour course set, but graduate grading policies can differ by institution.
