How to use the easy grader
- Enter the total number of questions on the test or quiz.
- Choose whether you want to enter wrong answers or correct answers.
- Adjust the passing grade and grade scale if your class uses different cutoffs.
- Review the score, letter grade, answer counts, pass/fail status, and grade chart.
Formula
Percentage score = correct answers / total questions x 100. If you enter wrong answers, correct answers = total questions - wrong answers.
Example
For a 20-question test with 2 wrong answers, the score is (20 - 2) / 20 x 100 = 90%, which maps to A on the default scale.
Common mistakes
- Using wrong answers when the input is set to correct answers.
- Entering a question count of 0, which cannot produce a valid percentage.
- Using a grade scale that does not match the class or school policy.
- Forgetting that curves, extra credit, and dropped questions can change the result.
