• 2 wrong out of 20 means 18 correct, so 18 / 20 x 100 = 90%.
• 5 wrong out of 50 means 45 correct, so 45 / 50 x 100 = 90%.
• 8 wrong out of 40 means 32 correct, so 32 / 40 x 100 = 80%.

• Entering correct answers in the wrong answers field.
• Using a total question count of 0, which cannot produce a valid percentage.
• Typing more wrong answers than the test or quiz has questions.
• Assuming this estimate includes curves, extra credit, or dropped questions.

The default scale starts A at 90%, B at 80%, C at 70%, and D at 60%. Classes, schools, and gradebooks may use different cutoffs, curves, rounding rules, late penalties, or extra credit.

How do I calculate a grade from wrong answers?

Subtract wrong answers from the total questions to get correct answers. Then divide correct answers by total questions and multiply by 100.

Two wrong out of 20 means 18 correct. The percentage is 18 / 20 x 100 = 90%, which maps to A on the default scale.

Can I change the letter grade scale?
